Glendale Industrial Development Association (GIDA) was formed in 1977. It was formed from the Beccaria Irvona Coalport (BCI) Industrial Development Association which was formed after World War II. They later disbanded and GIDA took over the assets and leftover monies. The association was renamed Glendale Industrial Development Association, for the reasoning that Glendale better represented the area.
The first officers were President Tom Hollis, Vice President Bill O’shall and Secretary/Treasurer Bob Wilk. The GIDA has been meeting at the Coalport Community Building ever since. The mission of the organization is to develop and encourage business and industrial development in the Glendale Valley.
